Year 9 Residential - Rockley Adventure
Dear Parents,
Its been a challenging few year’s with students missing out on so much but I’m excited to announce plans for a Year 9 Activity residential trip for Monday 15th to Wednesday 17th May 2023.
The trip is being organised in conjunction with Rockley Adventure, whose activity centres are recognised by national governing bodies and are licensed in the UK by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA).
We will be staying at Buddens Activity Centre, a stunning 96 acre site full of land and water based activities and space to spare. Buddens is the perfect fit with so many outdoor activities to try, there is plenty of scope for students to display leadership, teamwork, resilience and passion.
For a true sense of adventure, students will be staying in tented villages which are made up of 5-meter bell tents with comfortable beds and mattresses.
Take a look at the centre to see what students will be getting up to:
The cost for this opportunity will cover transport by coach's and minibus, three good meals per day, residential fees, activity programmes, equipment, instructor hire, insurance and a trip hoodie.
It is the policy of King’s Norton Boys' School to make various forms of outdoor education available to all our students. There will be financial support available to families who receive pupil premium support, if you would like to discuss this please do not hesitate to get in touch.

The benefit that both the students and staff gain from the social and outdoor activities on our outdoor education are long-lasting and unique to the school. The Year 9 residential aims to raise student’s environmental, physical, personal and social awareness. The physical challenges will help to develop self-confidence, team working skills and a sense of responsibility.
Students will be challenged to develop new relationships, plan and make choices, complete tasks and consider the consequences of their own actions in unfamiliar surroundings.
We have made reservations to accommodate 120 students in Year 9 for this trip and would be great to see your son join us.
If you wish your son to take part in this amazing trip, please complete the deposit payment via Parent Pay (link below).
The deadline date is Friday 4th November 2022. Places will be allocated on a first come basis.
Once places have been allocated I will send out confirmation email with a reminder of the payment plan and further information.
I am sure you will agree that the success of such a trip depends on the good behaviour and self-discipline of the students. The school therefore, reserves the right to refuse a place to any student whose school record is unsatisfactory.
Thank you for your support and I hope that your son will be able to take up this very exciting and rewarding opportunity.
If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely
Mr B Julian
