Duke of Edinburgh Award - Bronze, December 2020
Every year the school offers students the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. The award offers young people the chance to develop their individual, team and social skills. It also gives participants a chance to make a difference in their community. As such, it is highly regarded by colleges, universities and employers.
There have been necessary changes to some of the details of how D of E will be operating this year to ensure that students can safely undertake the different aspects of the programme in these exceptional times. Despite these changes, students will still have the opportunity to take part in a life-forming experience and to achieve their full award.
There are four sections to complete at Bronze level. They involve: helping the community/environment; becoming fitter; developing new skills; and planning, training for and completing an expedition. More information about the award can be found on the D of E web site www.dofe.org. I strongly recommend visiting the web site for further information.
If your son is interested in completing his D of E award, please view the presentation together below for more details.
The cost for the whole Bronze package is £60. This includes: registration with the official body; a D of E information pack; a discount card for outdoor clothing shops; expedition training; and a two-day assessed expedition. Pupil Premium funding is available, please speak to myself for further details.
