Year 7 Residential – South Wales 2021
Dear Parents and students,
A summer term Outdoor Education residential in South Wales has been organised for the 5-day period from Monday 5th July to Friday 9th July 2021.
An amazing full outdoor activity timetable is on offer which includes, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, giant SUPing, high ropes, climbing, gorge scrambling, waterfall jumps, boulder hoping, exploring caves, white water rafting, indoor surfing and an Ariel Assault course. All these adventurous activities will be supervised by nationally qualified instructors and coaches.
An additional programme of evening activities is also in place including team challenges, games night and swimming.
The total charge for this opportunity is £410 per student which will cover the cost of transport (by coach and minibus), three good meals per day, residential fees, activity programmes, equipment, instructor hire, insurance and trip hoodie.
It is the policy of King’s Norton to make various forms of outdoor activities available to your son. The benefit that both the students and staff gain from the social and leisure pursuits on our outdoor education course is long lasting and unique to the school. The South Wales residential trip for Year 7 aims to raise student’s environmental, physical, personal and social awareness. The physical challenges will help to develop self-confidence, team working skills and a sense of responsibility.
Students will be challenged to develop new relationships, plan and make choices, complete tasks and consider the consequences of their own actions in unfamiliar surroundings.
We have made reservations to accommodate 100 boys in Year 7 for this week and obviously we would like your son to join us.
If you wish your son to have a place, please fill out and submit the Y7 Trip Interest form (link below) as soon as possible along with the deposit of £50 via Parent Pay (link below).
The deadline date is Friday 19th November 2020
Places will be allocated on a first come basis so please submit the trip interest form and deposit as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The trip Interest form and deposit need to be done to secure a place.
Once all the places have been allocated I will send out confirmation letter with payment plan details and further information.
I am sure you will agree that the success of such a trip depends on the good behaviour and self-discipline of the students. The school therefore, reserves the right to refuse a place to any student whose school record is unsatisfactory.
Thank you for your support and I hope that your son will be able to take up this very exciting and rewarding opportunity. This is a very memorable week for your son which celebrates a successful first year at KNBS.
If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Mr B Julian
