Year 6 Transition Zone
Hello students, parents and carers. Welcome to our next update on the Transition Zone. We hope that you are finding these updates as fun and informative as we have found making them. Our Transition Team has been really busy this week visiting primary schools and preparing more videos and activities for you to attempt.
We have uploaded a video from our KNBS Key Staff, alongside a video from our Head of the Expressive Arts Faculty, Miss Gowreesunker, with a demonstration of collograph printing that you can try at home. If you’d like your design to be featured on our Twitter feed or on this webpage, please send your work to email@example.com. You will also find some Geography and Music-based Frequently Asked Questions, a recipe from our Food Technology teacher and a PowerPoint based on top tips for moving up to year 7 in September with the current restrictions.
Thank you for all of your enquiries and information that you have sent in; you should have received responses to these. If you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to ask. Don’t forget to send your confidentiality forms back to school. Alternatively, if you need new forms, please just fill out the Sharing Information box below.
We will be uploading a mini lesson from our Science department, Science FAQs and a variety of other activities designed to prepare you for September in our next update.
Have a good week!
Here you will find some FAQs that have been answered to prepare you for your Geography and Music lessons at KNBS. If you have any other questions, please ask your parents to send an enquiry on the Sharing Information form, and Mrs Kendall will get back to you as soon as possible.
Moving on to KNBS With the easing of lockdown restrictions appearing on the horizon, we have created a PowerPoint full of information to answer some questions that you might have about moving to Year 7 in September. We understand that this is a big move for you, and we hope that this information will help you to feel a little less worried about the move. Download
Food Technology Recipe Our Food Technology teacher, Miss Brown, has created a little introduction to Food Technology and a recipe for you to try out as a family at home. She has included the ingredients and method, and has also included a vegan/vegetarian alternative for you to try. We would really love to see your finished dish so please send a photograph into firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be tweeting all about them. Download
Collograph Print Miss Gowreesunker, Head of the Expressive Arts Faculty, has put together a mini lesson for you to try out at home. Have a go at completing the activity she has created for you and send your attempts to email@example.com – the most interesting designs will be featured on this page and on our KNBS Twitter feed. Have fun!
