KS3 Residential - Newby Wiske 2024

Dear Parents,

We are excited to announce our next KS3 residential for year 7 students, running in September 2024 the new Year 7 Residential.

A residential at PGL, Newby Wiske, North Yorkshire has been organised for the 5-day period from Monday 16th September to Friday 20th September 2024.

Further details of the centre can be found here

An amazing full outdoor activity timetable is on offer which includes land-based and water-based activities. The activity timetable will be confirmed closer to the time. All these adventurous activities will be supervised by nationally qualified instructors and coaches based at PGL.

An additional programme of evening activities is also in place which keeps students active and entertained up until bedtime.

Students will be staying in a newly transformed grade II listed former police headquarters with woodland and a water sports lake. In each room students will have their own bunk pod with en suite bathroom and underfloor heating. Each room will sleep between 4 and 8 students.

The benefit that both the students and staff gain from the social and outdoor activities on our outdoor education are long-lasting and unique to the school. The Year 7 residential trip aims to raise student’s environmental, physical, personal and social awareness. The physical challenges will help to develop self-confidence, team working skills and a sense of responsibility.

Students will be challenged to develop new relationships, plan and make choices, complete tasks and consider the consequences of their own actions in unfamiliar surroundings.

We have made reservations to accommodate 100 students in Year 7 for this trip and would be great to see your son join us.

If you wish your son to have a place, please complete your consent & deposit in Parent Pay (link below).

The deadline date is Friday 17th November 2023.

Places will be allocated on a first come basis. Please make your deposit as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The deposit is required to secure a place for your son.

Once places have been allocated I will send out confirmation letter with payment plan details and further information.

I am sure you will agree that the success of such a trip depends on the good behaviour and self-discipline of the students.  The school therefore, reserves the right to refuse a place to any student whose school record is unsatisfactory.

Thank you for your support and I hope that your son will be able to take up this very exciting and rewarding opportunity.

This is a very memorable week for students which celebrates a successful first year at KNBS.

If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely
