Our School Charity Day - Thursday 21st July

As you may be aware, one of our students at King’s Norton Boys’ school has very sadly been diagnosed with cancer. The school council would like to show their support by fundraising as much money as possible. As a result, on the last day on term - Thursday 21st July - we will be holding a Charity Day here in school with proceeds being donated to the charity ‘Teenage Cancer Trust’.

Teenage Cancer Trust ensures that no young person should have to face cancer alone. Teenage Cancer Trust have a specialist unit in almost every major NHS cancer treatment hospital across England, where they fund expert nurses, Youth Support Coordinators and Multidisciplinary Team Coordinators to provide the very best care and support for young people facing cancer.

On Thursday 21st July we will be holding school summer fair event on the field for all the students at King’s Norton Boys’ School to take part in. Every form in the school will be organising and running their own stall, along with some other exciting activities that are being planned. Your son will be able to choose which activities he takes part in on the day. Full details about timings and organisation of the day will be sent out later.

In order to make our Charity Day event a success we are asking for your support. To limit the exchange of cash in school, students will be handed tickets to ‘spend’ on the different activities during the event. We have suggested a donation of £10 for your child to take part in the activities on the day, but we would greatly appreciate any donations you can make towards this event. This donation is available for you to pay on Parent Pay and will also enable your child to wear their own clothes to school on this day. During the summer fair, your child will have the option to buy more tickets if they bring cash into school and want to top up the amount of tickets they are given to spend.

We have already had some great contributions of prizes donated from parents towards our event, for which we are very grateful for. If you are willing and able to provide or donate any further items or services that can help us raise money, please do get in touch and email us via enquiry@knbs.co.uk

On behalf of the students, parents, and staff at King’s Norton Boys’ School, thank you for your support.

Yours sincerely,
