Duke of Edinburgh Award - Bronze

Dear Parent,

Every year the school offers students the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. The award offers young people the chance to develop their individual, team and social skills. It also gives participants a chance to make a difference in their community. As such, it is highly regarded by colleges, universities and employers.

There are four sections to complete at Bronze level. They involve: helping the community/environment; becoming fitter; developing new skills; and planning, training for and completing an expedition. More information about the award can be found on the D of E website www.dofe.org. I strongly recommend visiting the website for further information.

The D of E scheme is a fantastic award; however, it does require a high level of commitment from participants. Students are expected to organise and commit to at least 3 hours of completing a physical activity, working on skill and volunteering every week outside of school hours.

If your son is interested in completing his D of E award, please view the video below with him for more details.
